Sinterklaas and The Three Wise Men
Sinterklaas is what Santa Claus is known as all over Europe. Because other countries have different languages Santa Claus is known by many different names. Sinterklass is another way of saying Sint Nicolaas, which is close to what we know Santa Claus as, St. Nick! In Spain, Sinterklaas is still celebrated by children everywhere, but he is not the one that brings presents!
Even though Sinterklaas is still looked forward to every year by kids in Spain, they also look forward to the three wise men! Instead of Santa's lap, children line up to see the Three Wise Men, who will bring them presents on January 6th if they behave. On the night of January 5th, children leave their shoes by the door, so the Wise Men can pass by and leave them presents and candies.
