Spanish Traditions
Hogueras- Bonfires
This tradition started before Christmas, and looks to celebrate the shortest day of the year. This is a tradition that has people jumping over large bonfires to protect themselves against illness. It is a superstitious tradition, but still a tradition!

Christmas Dinner
Christmas Dinner in Spain is not just about food, but also about family and tradition. Christmas Dinner never starts until AFTER midnight! The meal then starts and continues into the morning, where carols and songs are sung around the Christmas tree. A saying in Spain is
"Esta noche es Noche-Buena. Y no es noche de dormir", which means "This is good night, so it is not meant for sleep".
